7th Grade Revolutionary War Project

Students in Mrs. Means' 7th grade Language Arts class recently wrote their own books telling a story about the American Revolutionary War. As young authors, students imagined that they were soldiers experiencing battle in a first person account. Students told their stories in the present tense and were required to walk through the battle step-by-step using their five senses and a lot of details. In the process, students were asked to paint a picture so that the readers of their books would feel like they were experiencing the battle with the author.

Pictured are 7th grade students in Mrs. Means' class who reviewed each other's work and then voted on which book was the best out of all those on display during the annual Battle of the Books day that Mrs. Means hosts every year.
