Dear WW Families,
I hope this letter finds you well. We are all doing the best we can to stay healthy and happy during these difficult times.
This is certainly not the way we anticipated ending the school year. Please remember that although the buildings are closed, school remains open. Our teachers are working very hard to stay connected with the children and provide flexible learning opportunities.
Since we left the building so abruptly in March and did not know at that time that the buildings would not reopen, students did not have the opportunity to clean out their desks and take home their belongings. We also did not have the chance to say, “Good-bye”. We have come up with a plan for you to pick up your child’s belongings and say goodbye to his or her teacher.
The teachers have packed up all personal items into a shopping bag. You are invited to come to school with the kids in the car and pick up your bags. Your child’s teacher, if available, will carry the bag to the car and wave to the kids. We have created a schedule of days, times and locations based on each classroom. If this day or time does not work for you, or if you do not want to come to school, we can make other arrangements. In order to spread out as best we can, we will use both parking lots. The North lot is the visitor parking lot. The South lot is the staff parking lot.
Some additional notes: Worthwoods was scheduled for a major remodel this summer. Due to the fact that the building is closed, construction will begin in May. Beginning Monday, May 4, all meal pick-up will be at Worth Junior High School. Pick-up will be at the main entrance doors on New England Avenue. You will need to park your car and walk up to the door. Meal pick-up will continue at Worth Junior High until the last day of school on June 5. The Worthwoods office will be temporarily relocated to the District Office until construction is complete.
As always, if you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher or call the school office. It’s been a pleasure working with you this year, and we will continue to do our best right up to our official last day of school. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Esposito

Guidelines for families:
- Back into a parking spot in the lot designated for your child’s teacher.
- Put a sign on the windshield with your child’s name.
- Do not get out of your car. The teacher will approach the car to say hello (while practicing proper social distancing) and place the bag by the driver’s car door.
- If you have children in multiple grade levels, you may come multiple times to see each teacher. Or, you may pick up all bags at once. If this is the case, please email one of the teachers so we have all the bags ready.
