Dear Parents,
From everyone at Worth School District 127 and Worth Elementary, we genuinely hope this letter finds you safe and well.
Since we left the building so abruptly in March and did not know at that time that the buildings would not reopen, students did not have the opportunity to gather and take home their belongings. We also did not have the chance to say, “Good-bye”. We have come up with a plan for you to collect your child’s belongings and say goodbye to his or her teacher.
The teachers have packed up all personal items into a bag. You are invited to come to school with the kids in the car and pick up your bags. Your child’s teacher, if available, will carry the bag to the car and wave to the kids. We have created a schedule of days and times based on each grade level. If this day or time does not work for you, or if you do not want to come to school, we can make other arrangements. As always, if you have any questions, please email your child’s teacher or call the school office.
Below are the scheduled dates and times for each grade level.
Grade | Day / Date | Time |
5 | Tuesday 5/12/2020 | 9am – 10am |
4 | Thursday 5/14/2020 | 9am – 10am |
3 | Monday 5/18/2020 | 9am – 10am |
2 | Tuesday 5/19/2020 | 9am – 10am |
1 | Tuesday 5/19/2020 | 10am – 11am |
K | Thursday 5/21/2020 | 9am – 11am |
Cars should enter the blacktop area from 112th street and drive to the lane designated for your child’s classroom teacher. Cars that have collected will then proceed through to 111th street and may only turn right onto 111th street.
- Put a sign on the windshield with your child’s name.
- Please do not exit your vehicle. The teacher can place your child(ren)’s items by the side of the car or in the trunk.
- If you have children in multiple grade levels, you may come multiple times to see each teacher. Or, you may pick up all bags at once. If this is the case, please email one of the teachers so we have all the bags ready.
- Early Childhood has organized alternate plans. If you have not collected your child’s items, please contact Mary Z.
Sincerely,
Tim Hathhorn
