The Board of Education is a seven (7) member board elected by the voters of the district for 4-year terms.
The Board is charged with responsibilities that are assigned by the Illinois General Assembly through laws and among these duties are establishing the school calendar, providing revenue to maintain the educational programs of the district and provide physical facilities, adopt the necessary policies and procedures for management of the district, employment, appointment, compensation, discipline and dismissal of all district employees, setting curriculum, and periodically inspecting the physical facilities of the district.
The Board of Education serves without compensation but may be re-imbursed for actual expenses incurred while in the performance of their duties.
